AVON ELEMENTARY SOM

Student of the month is to recognize students on things they have done really well academically, as well as their achievements, behavior and contributions to Avon School.

NOVEMBER Elementary SOMs:

Brynn Baade, a kindergartener in Mrs. Kocmich’s class, is the six-year-old daughter of Leslie and Brandon Baade. She has two brothers, Rex and Burke. She has a dog named Roxy and lots of cats. Her favorite pastime is to draw, but her favorite subject in school is science because they get to perform experiments. So far school has taught her all of her letters. The best part of her day is to build Baby Bops with her friends.

Anna Small, a first grader in Mrs. Kuhlman's class, is the seven-year-old daughter of Mark and Mandy Small. She has three older sisters, Gracie, Ella, and Irelynn. She also has three pets, two dogs named Yuki and Drake, and a cat named Ember. Her favorite subject in school is math because she likes to answer the teacher’s questions. One thing school has taught her was that whenever there is a letter Q there has to be a letter U with it. In Anna's free time, her favorite thing to do is draw, and the best part of her day is to eat lunch with her friends.

DECEMBER Elementary SOMs:

Rodney Powers, a third grader in Mrs. Knodel's classroom, is the eight-year-old son of Matt and Ashley Counts. He has two sisters, Izzy and Ashlyn; and four dogs, Old Red, Maggy, Remington, and Winchester. In his free time, he likes to go fishing. His favorite class is art because he gets to draw. One thing that school has taught him is how to multiply. The best part of Rodney's day is recess.

Ashley Soukup, a fourth grader in Mr. Lagge’s class, is the ten-year-old daughter of Troy and Shirley Soukup. She has three older siblings, Megan, Cody, and Trenton. She also has two dogs, Minni and Maggy. Ashley's favorite pastime is art, but her favorite subject is math because she is good at it. One thing she has learned in school is how to multiply fractions. The best part of her day is going home.
