AVON CROWNS WATCHORN/GRETSCHMANN FOR HOMECOMING ROYALTY

On Monday, September 6 at 7:30 p.m., Avon School hosted the 2021 homecoming coronation in the gym. The queen candidates included Makayla Kopp, Katie Gretschmann, Reese Powers, Reece Loewe, and Tiffany Pelton. The king candidates consisted of Riley Rucktaeschel, Lincoln Thury, Justin Ferwerda, Eli Watchorn, and Keegan McAdaragh. Gretschmann and Watchorn were crowned queen and king, respectively.

When asked how she felt about the merit, Gretschmann said, “I was honored to be crowned homecoming queen. I was glad to experience my last homecoming with all my friends and classmates.” Watchorn added, “I was honored to represent AHS by being homecoming king.”

Senior Tiffany Ridgway presented the volleyball to Queen Katie, and senior Paden Long presented the football to King Eli. Junior class representatives Kley Heumiller, Jaden Stahl, Sarah Swier, and Kimberly Tolsma ushered the candidates on and off the stage. Student body president and event emcee Sam Brodeen said, “I had a fun time starting off the week with this memorable activity. It was a time I will never forget.”

Congratulations to all the royalty candidates and Avon High School’s new homecoming king and queen!
