Standing out on the court this season is the Libero, Sarah Swier. She is a senior this year and has been on the Lady Pirate Volleyball team for the last 7 years. In those 7 years, Sarah has played on varsity for 3 years. During her middle school years, she played all around and with hard work, she advanced to Libero.

Sarah Swier says the most notable thing that happened this season is, “Only having 2 returning varsity starters.”

The Lady Pirates have also added Coach Lindsy Fathke. With her coaching,theywereabletogo19 to25withNorthwestern,which is Swier’s favorite moment of the season so far.

Before every game the team praystogether,Swieralsoslaps the wall by the door following a long running basketball tradition when there is a cross on the wall. Sarah describes her team as young, determined, scrappy, and hungry for a win, andtheyhavegrownfromwhat little experience they started out with.
