AVON AMBULANCE RECEIVES DONATION
The Bargain Shoppe in Tyndall recently gave donations to the Avon, Scotland, Springfield, Tabor and Tyndall ambulances. The Tyndall ambulance received $5,000 and the Avon, Scotland, Springfield and Tabor ambulance each received $4,000.
The Bargain Shoppe is a nonprofit second hand store run solely by volunteers. They opened their doors November 24, 2007, 15 years ago this month! They are a dedicated group of volunteers. They sell gently used clothing, books, toys, seasonal decor, furniture and a wide variety of other household items.Allmerchandisehasbeendonatedandafterexpenses, net profits are donated to charitable causes in Bon Homme County. To date, they have given away $588,115.00.
They are need in volunteers to help keep the Shoppe's doors open. Their goal is to have volunteers from each town working together, a shift is 3 hours with at least four volunteers working. There are many hours put in behind the scenes, in fact the month of December they were open 47 hours and had 304 volunteers hours logged.
The Bargain Shoppe hours are Wednesday from 10am to 4pm, Thursdays from 3-6pm and the second Saturday from 9am to 12noon.
