Avon 18U played host to Menno Monday, July 1st in their final regular season matchup. In game one both teams got off to a slow start but it was Avon who took advantage of walks and hits in the 2nd inning to break open the scoring. Both teams would add a run down the stretch, but it was Avon who came out on top 7-1. Leading the way for Avon was Lydia Yost who was 3-3 with 2 runs scored, a RBI, and 2 stolen bases. Macy Voigt, Ravyn Medricky and Pria Sesler all had a hit. Avon outhit Menno 6-5 but also committed 3 errors. Yost pitched for Avon, throwing for 5 innings, striking out 7, and gave up 1 earned run. In the bottom of the first back-to-back doubles by Jordyn Voigt and Macy Voigt led to 3 eventual runs. Yost once again led the team in hitting with 3 hits, including 1 double and 2 singles. She also scored 2 runs, walked, and had 3 RBI. J. Voigt and M. Voigt each had 2 hits in the contest; while Medricky, Kaeli Wallinga, Emily Dewald, and Lexi Vanderlei all had a hit. Avon had 11 hits in the game compared to Menno's 3. Avon committed 2 errors while Menno had 3. Kaydence Metzger pitched for Avon, throwing 4 innings, striking out 1, and gave up 0 earned runs.
