PROVERBS 21:26 " He that coveteth greedily all the day long: but the righteous giveth and spareth not."(KJV)
PROVERBS 22:9 " He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed: for he giveth his bread to the poor."(KJV)
EPHESIANS 4:28 " Let him that stole steel no more: but rather let him labor, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth." (KJV)
We are living in a time when many people spend their time in getting something for free. Figuring out how they can get things without doing anything to get them. They want--but are not willing to do anything to acquire what they want. Basically they are lazy. You see them on street corners begging for money. Looking for handouts, many of these people will receive handouts all day long and will take in more than if they worked all day. They are not necessarily poor but are just simply lazy getting something for doing nothing.
But the righteous who, for the blessings of God, will have many times more than they need-- and rather than hoard everything that they have been blessed with---they are willing to share their blessings with those who are actually poor and needy.
The Scripture in Ephesians is telling us that a person--to get something for free-- might actually steel what they want-- but the Scripture actually says to not do that but to labor, working with their hands to gain what is good, and by doing so they will have abundant amounts of good things that they can give to the needy.
The Scripture is telling us that we should not be self-centered to acquire things in this world that we really don't need, and will ware out if not used, we should be willing to give away or share our blessings with someone else who is truly in need of them.. That is working for that which is good.
Remember that whatever we do for the Glory of God will be blessed and then we can be blessed again for sharing our blessings with others.
Are you willing to share?
