ARE YOU DOING WHAT HE WANTS?
JOHN 21: 18 to 22 Jesus is speaking to Peter in
Jesus is speaking to Peter in these verses--but to us as well.
18) Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdest thyself, and walkest whether thou wouldest but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldst not.
19) This spake he signifying by what death he should glorify God (Peter would later be crucified upsidedown.) and when he had spoken this, he saith unto him,Follow me.
20) Then Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; which also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, which is he that betrayest thee?
21) Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do? (You tell me how I will die for your glory--whats going to happen to him?)
22)Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee?" (KJV)
This scripture is telling us that it does'nt matter what God has for others to do--but for us to be about doing what God wants us to do. All Christians are expected to tell others about the gift of God of salvation thru Jesus Christ.
But we are not all the same--God has something special for you to do for Him--for each and every one of us to do.
So just do what God wants you to do and be blessed for doing it. Whatsoever you do, do for the glory of God--and be blessed for doing it.
Others have other things to do for Him, Some may require more, others require less--but if they are doing them, they will be blessed--just as you will be blessed for doing what God wants.
So don't worry about what others are doing for Christ (as Peter did) just be sure you are doing His will in your life now-- and be blessed.
Are you doing what He wants now?
