This week’s featured Andes Central Senior is Leah Brown. Leah is the granddaughter of Amy Emerson. Leah has one sibling, Israel. During her high school years, Leah has been involved in volleyball, basketball, JAG, National Honor Society, and track. Her favorite class is weight lifting. Ms. Maynard, Ms. Keizer, and Mr. Johnson are Leah’s favorite teachers. Leah’s advice to underclassmen wouldbe to “always put yourself first; do what’s best for you.” The most inspiring person in Leah’s life is Mr. Deneui. Her most memorable school moment would be when she dressed as Santa Claus to hand out goody bags to the elementary students. Homecoming week and the AC/DC Lady Thunder basketball team are what Leah will miss the most about her days at Andes Central.

What Leah is most looking forward to after graduation is creating a new lifestyle for herself. She is most proud of the achievements that she has accomplished and the maturity that she has gained throughout her high school years. After graduation, Leah plans to attend the University of South Dakota to major in Applied Health Science. In ten years, she sees herself financially stable with a flourishing career.

Enjoy your last year of high school, and best of luck in your future endeavors!
