The Sioux Falls Washington Pavilion presented the hit Broadway Musical Aladdin from November 28th through December 3rd. The Andes Central Music Boosters sponsored a trip for Andes Central middle school and high school band and chorus members to go and experience Aladdin. Thirty-seven Andes Central students along with 12 chaperones attended the performance at the Washington Pavilion Friday, December 1st.

Chaperones were Jackie Derry, Chris Derry, Tina Dangel, Bradley Dangel, Jolynn Tronvold, Gia Tronvold, Julie Rysavy, Lisa Keizer, Kristen Maynard, Mary Soulek, Marlene Janis and Josh Janis.

Students that attended the event included James Derry, Cameron Jones, Peyton High-Hawk, Evan Brinkley-Rock, Andrew Calandra, Tyler Ronfeldt, Luke Dangel, Dawson Kranig, Alison Frankenstein, Sadie Antelope, Emma Swanson, Karmen Ziegler, Mikayla Svatos, Adara Hopkins, Madilyn Janis, Madeline Derry, Katelyn Dvorak, Gracie Ronfeldt, Mila Hopkins, Laycia Little Bear, Taylor Brooks, Evette Brinkley-Rock, Ellani Aungie, Barbara Antelope, Makayla Jones, Carmela Gravatt, Elizabeth Simmons, Scarlette Drappeau, Leah Brown, Carl in Hopkins, Markel White, Callie Bergin, Marin Bultje, Emery Bultje, Steven Nielson, Riata Bultje and Claire Johnson.

Any Andes Central middle school and high school student who is in band and or chorus could attend the performance. The Andes Central music boosters gave the students this opportunity to experience something they may not normally get to see especially as a live performance. The music boosters sell fruit and band calendars each year as fundraisers to be able to provide students with opportunities such as these. AC music boosters has also helped buy t-shirts for the All-State Choir and marching band, paid for meals when students go to music contests and purchased letterman’s jackets.
