Andes Central re-hired DiMera Swanson as their new third grade teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. DiMera had originally taught second grade for four years at Andes Central. She then took a teaching position for the 2022-2023 school year at Flandreau Public School where she taught fourth grade. She took a year off to be a stay-at-home mom to her twins. DiMera has now returned back to her hometown of Lake Andes. DiMera became a teacher because she wanted to be able to shape the minds of kids and make a positive impact in their lives. When asked what made her want to become a part of the Andes Central School’s team, DiMera said that she grew up here, has previously taught here, and loves being around her family that is located in the Lake Andes community. What she is looking forward to most this year is building relationships with her students and creating a classroom community that her students feel a part of. DiMera’s goal for the school year is to create a safe, fun environment for students to learn. DiMera has been married to her high school sweetheart, Aaron Swanson, for the past four years. The couple has one-year old twins, RaeLynn and Ridge. In her free time, DiMera enjoys doing anything that involves her children or bingewatching series. Her favorite book is Wonder. One item on her bucket list is to take a hot air balloon ride. Welcome back to Andes Central, DiMera. We hope you have a wonderful year!
