Andes Central School District has a new elementary school principal for the 2023-2024 school year. Clint Nelson comes to Andes Central School District from the Mt. Vernon School District where he was the Superintendent and Elementary Principal. Nelson was born in Scotland and was raised in Rapid City. Since being at Andes Central, Clint has enjoyed working with the elementary school staff and feels privileged to get to know the students. His goal for this year as the elementary school principal is to keep student and staff morale high and to facilitate a positive learning experience for his students.
Nelson’s students would be surprised to know that he has over 100 ties and that he wears crazy themed dress socks every day. He collects sports memorabilia and bobbleheads. Good Will Hunting is Clint’s favorite movie. In his free time, Clint goes camping, fishing, watches hockey and football (die hard Green Bay Packers and South Dakota State University fan) and spends time with his family. Nelson’s wife, Bridgett works for Davison County. They have two children a son, Peyton, who teaches at the White Lake School District and a daughter, Devynn, who attends college in Sioux Falls. The Nelson’s also have a golden retriever named Hank and a cat named Fritz. One item on his bucket list is to travel to Alaska.
Welcome to Andes Central Mr. Nelson and hope you have a great first year here!
