Greer Unit #11 American Legion Auxiliary met April 15 at the post home with 13 members present and one guest, Jean Hunhoff.

The meeting was called to order by President Juanita Stone. Chaplain Margie Stone opened with prayer. The Pledge of Allegiance and American Legion Auxiliary Preamble were recited in unison.

Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read. The treasurers report was given and approved. Bills were presented from Linda. A motion was made by Barb to pay the bill from general funds. Motion was seconded. A motion was made by Margie to pay the bill, second given, motion carried.

Correspondence was read from District President Ruth Williams. Our District 8 membership stands at 88%. Department 2021 convention will be held in Huron on June 24-27th, at Crossroads Hotel & Huron Convention Center.

Membership chairman Barb Kucera reported that we have 75 paid members. Goal is 78. Community service chairman Margie Stone reported appropriate cards had been sent.

Unfinished business, Our soup and sandwich luncheon was a great success. Reports were given on supplies used and what would be needed for next year. It was suggested that the time frame be changed. A thank you was given to McKenzie Roberts for making the posters for the Soup Luncheon. Raffle Winners were: $50, Chamber Dollars Clayton Rados, $50, Beef Bucks, Jeanene Horner, $25, Gift Card Wagner Super Foods, Patti Frei, $25, Gift Card Buche Foods, Elaine Little. We appreciate all that helped support this project.

New Business: Annual reports are due to District President Ruth Williams this month. Poppy days will be held May 20-21, 2021. They were last sold in 2019, not last year due to Covid. Assignments for poppy delivery to the areas of town were given.

As there was no further business to come before the meeting Chaplin Margie Stone read the prayer for peace and President Juanita Stone adjourned the meeting at 8:50 p.m. Barb won the basket, and donated it back to children and youth fund.
