Greer Unit #11, American Legion Auxiliary met on October 15, 2020 at the post home with 6 members present.

The meeting was called to order by President Juanita Stone.

Chaplain Margie Stone opened with prayer.

The Pledge of Allegiance and American Legion Auxiliary Preamble were recited in unison.

Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read.

The treasures report was given and approved.

A bill was presented by Jeanette Fuchs, with a motion by Sandy Seiner to pay the bill, Motion carried.

Correspondence was read from District President Janice Coleman. Thank you was received from the dictionary project.

Membership chairman Barbara Kucera reported that we have 54 paid members, goal is 78.

Community Service chairman Margie Stone reported appropriate cards had been sent. Please call Margie to send cards to Post and Auxiliary members at 491-4384.

Unfinished business: Marlene Stone and Juanita Stone delivered the dictionaries to the school, staff will deliver them.

New Business:

Veterans day cards to deployed service members stationed in the Horn of Africa were signed by members and will be sent by Sandy Seiner. Sacks of candy will be furnished for Education week instead of baking due to Covid restrictions this year. A motion was made by Linda Youngbluth to nominate Junior Member Kimberly Rogers for Auxiliary Good Deed award for her work on Jessie’s Toy box (toy donations to MN hospital).

The Auxiliary Charter was draped in memory of Lucille Bures.

As there was no further business to come before the meeting. Chaplin Margie Stone read the prayer for peace and President Juanita Stone adjourned the meeting.

The quarter basket was won by Juanita Stone and donated to the Children and Youth Fund.
