Am. Leg. Auxiliary to Greer Post #11
Greer Unit #11, American Legion Auxiliary met on October 17, 2019 at the post home with 11 members present.
The meeting was called to order by President Juanita Stone. Chaplain Margie Stone opened with prayer
The Pledge of Allegiance and American Legion Auxiliary Preamble were recited in unison. Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read The treasures report was given and approved Bills were presented by Linda Youngbluth for Gift Shop as well as HSC snack items.
Motion was made by Margie Stone to pay the bill. Motion carried.
Correspondence was read from District President Janice Coleman Thank you’s were received from the Dictionary Project as well as Vol of America Berakhah House and Ronald McDonald House with information on the Restore and Renovate project Membership chairman Barbara Kucera reported that we have 50 paid members. Goal is 84. Please Continue to send dues to Barbara Kucera Community Service chairman Margie Stone reported appropriate cards had been sent. A thinking of you card was passed with members in attendance signing for member Linda Kahler.
Unfinished business:
Thank you to all who donated for the District Legion Meeting and Cancer Rummage Lunch Stand.
Thank You to Linda Y. for delivering gifts to Hot Springs for Gift Shop.
New Business:
Motion by Barbara Clemens to make a donation to Good Samaritan Center for Halloween Candy for our Make a Difference Day project.
Education Week is November 18-22 Members volunteering to donate Cookies for the School are Margie S. Marlene S. Carol T. Delores K. and Barbara C.
Motion was made by Barbara K. to make a donation to Sue Isebrands backpack program. Motion was seconded and carried. Bingo at Human Services Center will be held November 21st. Members attending will be Barbara K, Barbara C and Judy C. Greer Unit will be furnishing Cheese, Crackers and pop to residents.
Thank you to Marlene S. for the donation of the Quarter basket to the Children and Youth Bear
As there was no further business to come before the meeting. Chaplin Margie Stone read the prayer for peace and President Juanita Stone adjourned the meeting.
