Addison Cuka and Dusti Laska competed at State Gymnastics on Saturday, February 16th in Watertown.
Addison Cuka competed on the floor individual day. After following her teammate to each event, Addison’s turn came at the end of the day. She completed her routine with power and grace. She tumbled higher, danced gracefully, and spun a little quicker. Although she wasn’t feeling her best, she improved her floor standings from 40th at regions to 33rd at state. Addison scored an 8.30 for her final floor routine of the season. Way to go Addison. Coach McNinch and I are very proud of you.
Dusti Laska began her individual day competition on the vault. She has worked hard all season to perfect her handspring vault. Tonight, she was able to show how hard she has been working. She scored an 8.20. Dusti also earned the opportunity to compete beam. She scored 8.0 on her stuck routine. It has been fun to watch all of Dusti’s hard work and attention to detail in her routines. We are proud of you Dusti!
The girls and coaches would like to thank Joni Laska for the state sweatshirts, thank you Wagner Chiropractic for donating beverages for the girls to drink during the state event. Thank you to the Commercial State Bank for the Raiders shirts, chargers, and snacks, and thank you Von Eschens for the drinks as well. We appreciate all your thoughtfulness. Your kindness was greatly appreciated.
This was a great season. We are excited to see what skills the girls will learn during out-ofseason camps and open gyms. Let’s use this summer ladies to prepare for next year’s season!
