The Andes Central/Dakota Christian Cross Country team is a very young team. They are coached by first year coach, Beth Harrington. There are no seniors or juniors on the team and only one sophomore and one freshman. Only one returning athlete has experience, and that is Eilie DeHaan. She qualified in 2022 for the state cross-country meet.
The bulk of the team is comprised of middle schoolers. There are five 6th graders, and two seventh graders. The team participated in the Fort Randall Running Camp this summer.
Being such a young team, Beth hopes to be able to really start building a cross-country program. Coach Harrington is hoping that the kids will find success in middle school and will continue to want to run and compete; only getting better with time and practice. She is hopeful that the kids will continue to run so that there will be more varsity runners in the years to come.
Best of luck on your season.
