605 UNITY JAM PARTNERSHIP REMINDER TO ALL WHO WANT TO HELP
The development of partnerships for the 605 Unity JAM began a few weeks ago and is ready to wrap up this week. The purpose of the partnership process is to encourage local individuals, business, clubs and organizations to become financially supportive in the creation of this culture and music event. As you have read in prior articles, the event is an opportunity to increase culture awareness, understanding, acceptance and appreciation for all cultures in our area.
The Unity JAM will provide a variety of activities to encourage the general public to come to Wagner and experience a variety of music throughout the day, join in small group presentations about culture related information and much, much more. The partnerships provide financial support for the event and the partner will be able to be added to our advertising posters that will be distributed to communities in a 50 mile radius of Wagner. This is kind of advertising is especially helpful to businesses as this helps promote the business development process within our community. We believe a large crowd is expected to attend this event as this is the first time this kind of event has been held in southeastern South Dakota.
Several kinds of culture related presentations are being suggested by individuals offered to be presented so information can be enjoyed by everyone who wants to better understand the differences and similarities that exist in our area. In addition, the music line up is now complete and will be made public very soon. A total of 96 volunteers will be needed for this event and volunteer teams will begin being formed in the very near future. To help in this process all volunteers are being asked to only help for a two hour time frame so they can also spend the day enjoying the event as well. Please contact Dana Sanderson as soon as possible so you can help take the lead in this important event. The contact number is: 605-491-0804
