It is that time of year again when the students, staff, and community rally together to celebrate Wagner Community School’s Homecoming. This year's theme is 'Summer Getaway.' With homecoming comes the election of the homecoming royalty. This year’s King candidates are Jackson Rolston, Preston McFayden, and Hunter Lhotak. Queen candidates for the 2024 Homecoming are Janessa Powers, April Hollingsworth, and Presley Slaba. Meet the candidates:
Jackson Rolston
The son of Jerrod and Annie Rolston, Jackson has been very active during his years at WCS with activities including cross-country, National Honor Society, Oral Interp, Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), spring play, student council, and activity council. What Jackson is most looking forward to his senior year homecoming is enjoying his last homecoming as a Red Raider with his friends and participating in the games that are offered during their Student Responsibility Block (SRB). His favorite part of homecoming week is seeing everyone dressed up for the week’s dress up days. Jackson plans on getting his fellow students excited with school spirit by encouraging others to dress up and participate in the games during SRB. If Jackson is chosen as Homecoming King, he would be filled with joy and feel honored that he was chosen by his classmates.
Preston McFayden
Preston is the son of Chris and Amanda McFayden and the grandson of Merrill and Lynn McFayden and Owen and Reita Goening. During Preston’s high school years at WCS, he has participated in basketball, football and student activities council. What Preston is looking forward to the most his senior homecoming is taking it all in and making the most out of every activity. Preston’s favorite parts of homecoming are celebrating with the entire school, playing fun games, dressing up on the dress-up days and of course the football game. He plans on rallying school spirit by encouraging everyone to participate, show enthusiasm in games and try to make everyone feel involved. If chosen as WCS Homecoming King, Preston would feel very honored, excited and grateful.
Hunter Lhotak
The son of Gina and the late Jeremy Lhotak, Hunter has participated in football, National Honor Society, baseball, track, basketball, Student Council, and activities council during his high school years. What Hunter is most looking forward to his senior homecoming is the football game and dress up days of the week. His favorite part of homecoming is the football game. What Janessa is most looking forward to her senior year homecoming is the whole week and all the dress up days. Her favorite part of homecoming will be the anticipation until coronation day. Janessa plans to get her peers excited and in the school spirit during HoCo week because it is a great opportunity to build friendships and create memories.
