2019 FEBRUARY FITNESS BUSINESS CHALLENGE CHAMPIONS

By

The Wagner Area Health & Wellness Consortium held the third annual February Fitness Challenge. In addition to the traditional team challenge, a new category for businesses was added. Each business averaged the points of their participating employees, which was not limited, to ensure equality between small and large businesses.

After points were tallied, the Wagner Community Memorial Hospital-Avera were titled the 2019 February Fitness Business Challenge Champions with a total of 170 points. Participants gained points by doing different forms of physical activity in 20 minute increments. For example, 20 minutes of walking would earn 2 points, while running for 20 min-fun! Wagner Community Memorial Hospital-Avera will have bragging rights and a traveling trophy will be displayed at their facility for one year.

The individual teams had the same point system, but was totaled instead of averaged. Team Rather Be Sleeping, (Laura Wright, Samantha Dvorak, Emily Brunsing, and Krista Dvorak) claimed the utes would earn 6. The pressure was intense between second and third place, with Wagner Indian Health Service narrowly edging past Juffer Inc. with 151 to 148 points, respectively. A shout out to the participating business for a job well done! The Consortium would like to encourage other businesses to look ahead to next year’s challenge and have some competitive team title for a 2nd year in a row with 1388 points and received Wagner Chamber Bucks for their efforts. With 1180 accumulated points, the Good Morning GF team gained second place.

Thanks to the teams that participated, the Consortium is looking forward to next year’s challenge!
