2018 GUARD GALA QUEEN CANDIDATES
The annual Guard Gala will be held Saturday at the Wagner National Guard Armory. The evening kicks off at 6:30 p.m., when the winner of the Military Queen Contest will be announced. There will be wine, beer and food tasting from 7 to 9 p.m., with a photo booth and boutiques available for shopping. A silent auction will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. For your entertainment from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m., Weston Frank will be performing.

Rose Eitemiller, 17, daughter of Chet and Angela Eitemiller, is sponsored by the American Legion.
Rose attends Wagner Community School. She also has been working for Weber Cleaning for three years as a commercial cleaner.
She is involved in FOR Club, FFA, cross country, quiz bowl, mentoring, Student Council, track, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, yearbook, newspaper, oral interp, band chorus, Region 5 band and chorus festival, the school play, 4-H, Easter Cantata, East Lake Andes Lutheran Church musicians, and the Wagner Saddle Club.
Her future plans are to go to a four year college and major in data and statistics or join the South Dakota National Guards.
Megan Merkwan, daughter of Dennis and Mary Merkwan, is sponsored by the Wagner Theatre.
Megan is a senior at Wagner Community School. She also works at the Wagner Theatre, where she has worked for the past year and a half.
She is involved in competition cheer, sideline cheer, gymnastics, track, Prairie Readers, All State Choir, Region 5 Festival.
Her future plans are to attend Minot State University in North Dakota majoring in psychology and minoring in art. With her degree she would like to become a school counselor or an art therapist.
Jensen Holzbauer, 19, daughter of Rebecca Holzbauer, is sponsored by First Dakota National Bank.
Jensen is a full-time student at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion. She is a sophomore majoring in nursing. She is a part-time CNA, which she has been for the past four years.
She is a member of the Alpha Xi Delta Sorority on campus and is also involved with a bible study there.
Her future plans are to major in nursing and then become a nurse anesthesiologist.
A m a - ri Weston, daughter of GwynWeston, is sponsored by Commercial State Bank.
Amari is a student at Wagner Community High School. She is involved in: Art Club, Powwows, JAG, Upward Bound Trio.
Her future plans are to attend the Crazy Horse Program after graduating in May 2019, then will attend USD and major in Microbiology (Laboratory Sciences). Once she is done with her degree she plans to attend Graduate School and get her PhD or Doctorate Degree.
Joi Zephier, daughter of Nicole Zephier is sponsored by the Wagner VFW.
Joi is a student at Wagner Community High School. She is involved in: National Honor Society and Job's for America's Graduates'.
Her future plans are to attend STI to be an LPN.
Macy Hajek, daughter of Cary and Dorothy Hajek is sponsored by the Tyndall VFW.
Macy is a student at Bon Homme High School in Tyndall. She is involved in National Honor Society, student council, cross country, volleyball, basketball and softball.
Her future plans are to attend Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa for a degree in Nursing.
