“YES! THE WAGNER PUBLIC LIBRARY DOES TAKE DONATIONS!”

By

Thanks to Punxsutawney Phil everyone is running around with spring fever!

March 10th we will spring ahead and maybe even start our spring-cleaning.

If you have books gathering dust and taking up space, don’t discard them! You are welcome to donate them to the Wagner Public Library. This will spruce up your house, keep books out of the trash, and get books into the hands of fellow readers.

Donated books are sorted to determine the best use for them. Those that are new to us are added to library inventory and made available for circulation. They add more variety to our shelves!

Books that we already have get placed on our annual book sale. The sale generates income for new purchases. Books that can’t be used for circulation or sale are put on our free shelves. It’s another great way to spread the books out to our community.

Magazines can also be donated to the library. We frequently have people asking if we have any to give away. Let us help you pass them on to someone who will appreciate them.

Thanks to those who have already thought of us with donations!

The James and Katherine Andersh family has been a long time library supporter. This family has always made special contributions and donations to The Wagner Public Library. Kathy loved and devoted herself to her long held job as librarian. Her husband Jim made a number of wood pieces that are still used at the library today. Their daughter regularly donated books, magazines, and audios. Their sons in the area were good at doing supply runs and one of them helped Kathy navigate the world of technology.

To honor the passing of Kathy in 2023 and Jim in 2024, the family has blessed the library with Memorial Donations. It was the wish of Jim and Kathy to make a financial contribution after their passing. Additional family and friends made generous contributions to honor them as well. We truly appreciate them thinking of us and will use the funds with warm remembrance and thoughts of them.

The Library is open from 9:00-5:00 Monday through Friday. Donations can be brought in the door on the East side of the building. We recommend coming prior to 3:30 p.m., when the parking lot is roped off for the safety of Boys and Girls Club kids. Call ahead (605-384-5248) if you have questions or we need to make special arrangements.
