Due to current health concerns, private services for Wayne Warren Wunder, 82, of Delmont, were held Saturday, March 28 at Peters Funeral Home in Wagner. Burial was in the Delmont Cemetery, rural Delmont.

Wayne Warren Wunder was born June 14, 1937 at the family farm to Harvey and Beryl Wunder. He passed away at Avera St. Benedict Hospital, Parkston on Wednesday, March 25, 2020.

Wayne attended eight years of grade school at Choteau Creek #2. He graduated from Delmont High School in 1955. He attended one year at Southern Teachers College and then returned home to farm with his father.

On November 12, 1959, Wayne married Karen Sadler in Wagner. To this union five children were born: Susan, Sandra, Jo-Della, James and Robert.

Wayne continued to farm raising pigs, cows and many crops. He was known to have the straightest rows in the field. He had worked at Grosz’s gravel pit for the last 17 years and was recently working there until September 2019. He loved working at the pit.

He is survived by his five children: Susan Christensen (Art), Sioux Falls, Sandy (Nick) Digesualdo, Castle Rock, CO, Jody (Todd) Schlund, Locust Grove, VA, Jay (Terese) Wunder, Wagner, and Rob (Trenna) Wunder, Worthing; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceeded in death by his parents.
