Veronica “Vee” Horner, age 76, of Tabor, died on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at Good Samaritan Society in Scotland.

Mass of Christian Burial was Saturday, February 9 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Tabor with Reverend Anthony Urban officiating. Inurnment was at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery in Tabor. Arrangements were under the direction of the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Yankton.

Veronica was born March 28, 1942 in Wagner to Adam and Mary (Busta) Hron. She grew up in Wagner and attended country school. After school, she worked on the farm and then at The Spot Café in Wagner. On October 11, 1965, Vee marriedRaymondTrotter.After their marriage, they moved to Yankton and Vee worked as a waitress and cook for the bowling alley and Sunshine Café. In 1974, they moved to Tabor and purchased Vee’s Bar. In 1985, Vee started working for the Czech Inn. She married Allen Horner in 1989 and then sold the bar in 1990. She then enjoyed babysitting for many families in Tabor. From 1994 to 2017, Vee worked at the Tabor Nutrition Center. She loved to cook, especially dumplings. She also enjoyed doing puzzle books, embroidery and her many, many years as an Avon consultant. She loved the time spent on the farm and all the pets she had throughout the years.

Vee is survived by three children: Teresa (Ken) Holland of Tabor, Kimberly (David) Bloch of Arlington and Ron (Janelle) Trotter of Lesterville; four step-children, Greg (Lea) Horner of Littleton, CO, Connie (Lyle) LaCroix of Aripeka, FL, Sue (Tony) Souhrada of Tabor and Kathy (Tracey) Adams of Dolan Springs, AZ; 14 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; one brother, Franklin Hron of Tabor; and two loving dogs, Molly and Zsa Zsa.

Vee was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Allen “Al” Horner on December 10, 2010; granddaughter, Leah LaCroix; and brother, Robert Hron.
