Wake Services for Teresa Whipple-Omaha, 64, of Lake Andes were Saturday, February 1 at the White Swan Community Center in Lake Andes. After the wake services, Teresa was cremated. Peters (Crosby-Jaeger) Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Teresa was born at Wagner on October 25, 1955. She died Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls. She left behind her husband of 17 years, Joseph Omaha and her nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Teresa lived with and was raised by her sister Caroline and Adalph Stricker at an early age along with their children, whom were raised together as brothers and sisters.

Teresa lived on the Yankton Sioux Reservation the majority of her life and eventually settled down in the Lake Andes area with her husband Joseph.

Teresa loved to travel. She had traveled to several different places in her lifetime. She worked for 18 years at the Fort Randall Casino and had close friends, many who were her co-workers.

Teresa is survived by her husband Joseph of Lake Andes; niece Molette (Duane) Chalmers of Lake Andes; her precious great grandson Jackson Chalmers; grandson Hunter Chalmers; Winter Neal of Lake Andes; nieces: Carol Stricker of San Antonio, TX; Mario Perez of Sant Antonio, TX, Iris and Mike Whitmarsh of Lincoln, NE and Rita and David Garcia of Hawaii; nephews: Ronald, William and Ira Stricker of Lake Andes, John (Casey) Stricker of Lincoln, NE; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Teresa is preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, brothers and sisters.
