Funeral services for Sandra Wade, 76, of Lake Andes were Monday, June 13 at the White Swan Community Center in Lake Andes. Burial was in the Greenwood Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Greenwood. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Sandra “Sandy” Lee Wade was born November 9, 1945 to Alfreda Drapeau and Stephen Wright at home along the river bottom in Greenwood. Her sunset was Thursday, June 9, 2022 in rural Lake Andes, the result of an automobile accident.

Sandy lived many hardships but managed to remain strong willed and full of life. She cherished family and took part in the upbringing of her younger siblings. During the Indian Relocation Act, Sandy relocated to San Francisco, CA where she met the love of her life, Roy Wade Sr. Together they raised their six sons and as a family went on numerous adventures.

Sandy was a licensed cosmetologist in her younger years, a traditional dancer, enjoyed gardening and watching the PBR with Roy. She had a witty sense of humor, was wise, memorable and a good story teller. Sandy enjoyed visiting and spending time with family, her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Sandy was preceded in death by her loving husband Roy Wade Sr and her sons: Guy Paul “Tubby” Fast Horse and Eugene “Gene” Fast Horse.

Left to mourn are her sons: Brenden “Charlie” Fast Horse, Blue Fast Horse, Roy Wade Jr. and Jimmy Joe Wade Sr. and their families.

Sandy was loved very much and will be greatly missed.
