He was the last surviving member of the family and joined them April 26, 2024 at the age of 84 years. Bob was five years old when his dad passed away so his older brother Lloyd helped his mom carry on farm activities and also helped raise his three younger brothers. Bob attended the Sperry Country School and graduated from Avon High School in 1957. Following graduation, he began farming until he entered the Army in April of 1963 and was honorably discharged in April of 1965. He then returned to the farm until his retirement. Bob helped at Williams Masonry and S & S Masonry when farming allowed. It was while working for S & S Masonry building the Colome School he met his future wife JoAnn Hauf and they were married June 11, 1994 in the Avon Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed playing cards with his friends, driving out to the farm to see what was happening, and coffee with friends at A-1 and cooking. Bob was a member of the American Legion Post #150. He is survived by his wife JoAnn; three step-children; 11 step grandchildren; 12 step great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Cleo, Merle, and Anita; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws; sister Alma (Dale) Nelson; and brothers: Lloyd (Ethel), Ray, Marvin, Johnnie (Clarice), Francis and Dale Reiff. His smile and humor will be missed by all who knew him.
