RAYMOND ANDERSON

A memorial service for Raymond Niels Anderson will be held Saturday, June 1 at 1:00 p.m. at the American Legion in Delmont. Raymond passed away peacefully Sunday, May 5, 2024, after a courageous battle with liver cancer.

Raymond was born November 16, 1963 in Wagner to Niel and Wanda Anderson. The majority of his childhood was spent growing up in Colorado until his family moved to Delmont in 1979 when he was a sophomore. He graduated from Delmont High School in 1982. After graduating from high school, Raymond joined the Army National Guard. In 1988, he decided to join the Army full time and was sent to Germany. During his time in Germany, he met his wife, Connie. While serving in Germany, he was deployed to Saudi Arabia to serve in Desert Storm. After re-enlisting in the Army, he was transferred stateside and served his final term in Louisiana.

Raymond and Connie moved back to Delmont with their children, Alex and Katharina, where Raymond became full time with the Army National Guard and a Volunteer Fireman with the Delmont Fire Department. During his time with the National Guard, he did two hours in Iraq.

Raymond enjoyed a life helping others. He was extremely passionate about the Delmont Fire Department where he served as secretary for many years. He was also a member of the Patriot Guards, where he stood proud to honor fallen heroes.

Raymond is survived by his mother, Wanda Anderson, wife Connie, children Alex and Katharina (Chris Thill), granddaughter Jade, sister, Samantha (Jeff) Skinner and nephews, Jacob and Ian.

He was preceded in death by his father Niel, sister Rozelle and grandson Adalrik.
