Funeral services for Phyllis Powers, 72, of Wagner were Friday, August 28 at the National Guard Armory in Wagner, with Rev. Jerry Zephier officiating. Burial was in the Hill Church Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Dante. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Phyllis Linda (Patterson) Powers was born August 18, 1948 in Wagner, the daughter of Phillip and Elsie (Provost) Patterson. She was the baby of the family. She joined Susie, Marky, Robert, Layton Sr. “Bucky”, Donald Sr. and Christine. She died Sunday, August 23, 2020 at her home in Wagner.

Phyllis met and married Doug Powers, they loved each other so much they were married twice. They were married for 37 years. Their many years of travel led them to the western side of the United States, eventually returning to Wagner.

Phyllis was happy to help raise her nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Phyllis became a Grandma to many, many more grandchildren and was widely known as “Grandma Phil” or “Phillie Mae” whether they were related or not. She had a cookie or piece of candy. These always won her Grandma of the Year.
