NAOME 'FAYE' (DRAPEAU) WATERS

Faye died Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton. Funeral services were Saturday, September 17, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Marty. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Naoma “Faye” Drapeau-Waters was born on June 6, 1957 to Marlene Cournoyer and Philip Drapeau in Winnebago, NE. Faye’s siblings are Kevin, Laura, Karen, Mike, Julie and Denise.

Faye attended Marty Indian School for most of her school years, but moved to Washington with her mother and graduated high school at Davenport, Washington. Faye then went on to work different jobs such as fiberglass fabrication and in the cleaning industry but spent most of her years in healthcare as a CNA and caregiver. This then let Faye to her final years where she settled in Wagner and loved taking care of her grandchildren. They were her world.

Faye loved going to the casino, shopping, going out to eat and playing games on her tablet.

Faye’s children are Jennifer Rose Paiva and Robert Lee Drapeau. Her grandchildren whom she was so proud of are: Stephenie, Kiana, Aaliyah, Janae, Niko, Malakai, Treyton, Khalil, Kamarri, Zakyah, Hilario, Xavia and RJ all of Wagner. Her great-grandchildren are Jaylen, Jayciana, Jaynie Ionna, Jayccon, Jaylahni, Keanu and Rebecca. They were all her pride and joy and she loved to be called “Granny”. She also has three grandchildren in Nebraska: Lexi, Journee and Charli. Faye is preceded in death by her father, Philip Drapeau; her sister, Denise Drapeau; her husband, Sonny Waters and her first husband, Gene Kalning.
