MIKALENA NEAL

Mikalena Neal, 24, of Lake Andes, died Wednesday, May 14 the result of an automobile accident near Worthing. Burial was in the Native American Church Cemetery, rural Wagner. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Mikalena was born on January 2, 2001 to Henrietta Bruguier and Mike Neal at Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton.

She grew up on the Yankton Sioux Reservation and partlyinNavajo,NewMexico. She attended school at Andes Central and in later years she attended Marty Indian School. She lived with her mother Henrietta Neal until they moved to Sioux Falls.

She worked in various jobs and later in life was blessed with two sons, Anthony Jay McBernie and Daniel Jacob McBernie.

Mikalena leaves to mourn two sisters, Megan and Latisha; five brothers; Mike, Vance, Quentino, Quentano, and Dion; her two sons, Anthony and Daniel; and many relatives and family.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father, paternal grandparents and maternal grandfather Quentin Bruguier Sr.

Mikalena will be missed for her smile and laughter.
