Micah Derrick Spaulding, MSN, APRN joined his eternal family on October 13, 2022.

Born June 2, 1961 in Danville, KY, he was the second child of Rev. James Edwin SpauldingandBarbaraJean Bogie Spaulding, both of Hustonville, KY. Micah was fortunate to have grown up in many wonderful places. His early elementary years were spent in Kentucky and North Carolina s his parents weretrainingtobeSouthern Baptist Missionaries of the Foreign Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. The family moved to the Caribbean and he attended Queen's College in Nassau, Bahamas, and St. Anthony's Boy College in Trinidad, West Indies. The family moved to Aberdeen, Scotland where he attended Clayton State in Jonesboro where he received his BSN. HeearnedaNursePractitioner degree from the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing at Emory University in Atlanta GA. One of the students who was also attending the classes wasLisaVoigt.MicahandLisa were married in March 1998.

Micah loved to travel, try new restaurants with his family, his faith, enjoyed spending timewithhissonanddaughter, enjoyed outdoor recreation and his dogs. He worked as an emergency room nurse practitioner for many years in North Georgia. The last day that he worked was October 11, 2022.

He was proud of his Scottish ancestry and became a Fellow of the Antiquaries of Scotland, and was also a member of First Families of Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1998, a nephew Nicolas James Spaulding in 2014, and his Kentucky grandparents Thomas and Agnes Spaulding. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Voigt Spaulding, son Noah James, and a daughter Abigail Grace of Cartersville, his bother Barbara Bogie Spaulding, and a brother Timothy Spaulding MD, a sisterLindaSpauldingWesterfield; nephews William Henry and Thomas Smith.
