Margie A. Shore (nee Cuka), 88, was reunited with her husband on January 26, 2022.

Born in Tyndall, she spent her early years on her parents’ farm along with her four older siblings. Margie graduated from Yankton High School in 1951 and married Donald P. Shore on May 15, 1952. This union produced two children—Larry (Christie) Shore and Cynthia (Dale) Solchenberger, three grandchildren – Laurie and Lisa Solchenberger and Riley Shore along with one great-granddaughter – Hailey Solchenberger.

Margie spent her early years of marriage raising her children in Sioux City, Iowa. There she was instrumental in setting up a library in the local elementary school. In 1967 she and Don moved the family to Franklin, Wisconsin where she began working in the transportation industry, eventually becoming an office manager.

Margie was dedicated to community service and served as an alderwoman on the Franklin City Council. She was passionate about environmental issues in Franklin. In her later years she would attend many council meetings to stay informed.

Margie enjoyed spending time in her yard and with her family playing cards, especially cribbage where she usually won by a landslide. During the summer she and Don would spend many peaceful days at their second home in Eagle River, Wisconsin.

Margie is survived by her son, grandchildren, great-granddaughter, two sisters-in-law along with many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Saturday, February 5th, at the Heritage Funeral Home (9200 S. 27th St. Oak Creek) from 1-3 p.m. Masks will be required. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 8540692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692 or Horizon Home Care & Hospice, P.O. Box 88828, Milwaukee, WI 53288-0828.

Interment next to her husband at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Yankton, will occur at a later date.
