Funeral Mass for Marcine Blaha, 95, of Dante was Saturday, December 22 at the Assumption Catholic Church in Dante. Burial was in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, rural Dante. Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Marcine I. Blaha was born March 7, 1923 on a farm East of Wagner, the daughter of John and Myrtle (Nelson) Sip. She died Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Wagner.

Marcine attended rural school east of Wagner and two years of high school at Wagner High School.

Marcine married Frank J. Blaha on September 14, 1943. To this union three sons: John, Gene and Ron, and one daughter, Judy, were born.

Together Frank and Marcine farmed south of Dante until moving into Dante in 1975. They owned and operated the Dante GroceryStore,wellknownfortheir penny candy, until their retirement in 1989.

Marcine was a proud, converted Catholic and devoted many years to teaching CCD. She was a member of the Assumption Altar Society and the Dante Card Club. She will be remembered for her love of playing pinochle, quilting, embroidering and gardening. She was a hard working, happy and positive woman who always looked for the good in things.

Marcine is survived by two sons: Gene (Sandy) Blaha of Menomonie, WI and Ron Blaha of Anoka, MN; daughter-in-law Jane Blaha of Dante; nine grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her brother Vernon Sip and her sister Shirley Eitemiller, both of Wagner, along with several nieces and nephews.

Marcine was preceded in death by her husband Frank J.; son John; daughter Judy as a child; daughter-in-law Sandy; granddaughter Cathy Hong; grandson Brant Blaha; brother Burnell and wife Emily Sip; brother-in-law Arnold Eitemiller; and sister-in-law Judy Sip.
