Funeral services for Laura Lynn McBride, Tuki Ota Win - Many Shells Woman, 55, of Wagner, were Tuesday, September 20 at the YST Community Center in Wagner. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Laura Lynn McBride was born to Berdelene Zephier and Calvin McBride, Sr. on April 11, 1967 in Yankton. She grew up in Yankton until she was a teen. She then moved to Choteau Creek with her grandmother Mary McBride. Then in 1971 she moved to Wagner with her parents. She died at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Sioux City, IA on September 15, 2022.

Laura received her education at Pierre Indian Learning Center in Pierre, and then her GED in Marty. She went on to college at United Tribes Technical College in Bismarck, ND.

Laura began her family with the birth of her first daughter, Whitney McBride and then her first born son, Jordan “JRock” McBride. A few years later she married Ike Primeaux whom with she had three children: Tierra, Nelson and Cole McBride. She later had Calene McBride with Camron Wood.

Laura worked a few years for the Yankton Sioux Tribe as a CHR driver. She also held a management position for the Super 8 Motel in Wagner and then worked as a head housekeeper at the Ohiya Casino Hotel in Santee, NE. She then went back to work for the Yankton Sioux Tribe delivering elderly meals.

Laura enjoyed most of her time with family and friends. She would go out of her way to make her family and friends birthdays special. She also enjoyed playing the machines at the casino from time to time. The love of her life is her grandson (Jack) “Wakinyan Yuha Waci”.

Laura is survived by her children: Whitney McBride, Jordan “JRock” McBride, Tierra McBride, Nelson McBride, Cole McBride, Calene McBride and “Wakinyan Yuha Waci”; brothers: Calvin McBride, Jr. and Swiftboy McBride; a sister Jackie McBride all of Wagner; auntie/momBernadetteZephier and uncle Terry McBride.

Laura is preceded in death by her sisters: Mary McBride and Mondy McBride, her brother Bubba McBride, her mother Berdelene Zephier-McBride and her father Calvin McBride, Sr.
