Funeral services for Katherine L. Andersh, 89, of Wagner were held Monday, October 24 at St John Lutheran Church in Wagner. Burial was in the ZCBJ Cemetery, rural Wagner. In lieu of flowers, please donate in her name to your favorite charity.

Katherine “Kathy” Andersh was born August 28, 1933 in Lincoln, NE, the daughter of John and Lydia ((Dinges) Reich. She passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at the Wagner Community Memorial Hospital, Avera.

Kathy grew up in Lincoln, NE and Hastings, NE during World War II. They moved to Wagner when her father worked on the Fort Randall Dam. They moved back to Lincoln, where she graduated from Lincoln High School in 1951. She attended Wayne State Teachers College and then taught country school in Lincoln for three years. Kathy married James Andersh on January 2, 1954 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lincoln, NE. They moved to a farm east of Wagner where they raised their family.

Kathy worked at the Wagner Public Library for many years, subbed at Wagner Community School and then worked at Kaberna Insurance.

Kathy was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Wagner, where she was active in LWML, and taught Sunday School and Bible School. Thankful for having shared her life are her husband James; six children and seven grandchildren: Dennis (Eileen) Andersh and grandchildren Nicholas and Katherine Andersh; Connie (Doug) Blaha; Douglas (Lavonne) Andersh and grandchildren, Jeremy Andersh, Jordan Andersh, and Jenae Brighton; Ron Andersh; Scott (Karie) Andersh; and Bradley (Maureen) Andersh and grandchildren, John and Chris Andersh; two great grandchildren: Isaac and Olivia Brighton; six step grandchildren; seven step great grandchildren; brother John Reich, Jr.; cousin Emma Lundberg; and many nieces and nephews.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law, Laddie Andersh; mother-in-law, Mary (Rados) Andersh; sister, MaryAnn Tomasevik; brother- in-law, Richard Tomasevic; brother-in-law, Don Andersh; and sister-in-law, Carole Andersh.
