BE BUSY BEING BUSY FOR THE LORD

PROVERBS 27:1 "Boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth."(KJV)

JOB 27:8 " For what is the hope of the hypocrite, though he hath gained, when God taketh away his soul?"(KJV)

LUKE 12:16-21 "And he spake a parable unto them, saying, the ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? And he said this, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow my fruits and goods. And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years: Take thine ease, drink and be merry. But God said unto him, Thou fool, This night thy soul shall be required of thee: Then whose shall these things be, which thou hast provided? So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God."(KJV)

MATTHEW 6: 19-21 "Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through and steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."(KJV)

These scriptures are not saying that you should not have anything on earth, but they are telling us that when God provides us with the things that we need, we should not try to pile up more than we need.

Some people brag about how much they have in possessions. But when all is said and over that cannot take them with them.

Though it is proper and right to do what we can to provide a good life for ourselves and our family, devoting all our time to accumulating things only to leave them accumulated when we die, should not be.

We as Christians should be content with what God has blessed us with and spend time accumulating blessings, treasures in heaven by serving the Lord. Put as much time in doing things for the Lord that build up treasures in heaven, which will be there when we get there.

We should not worry about tomorrow.

Are you busy being busy for the Lord?
