Funeral services for Joyce E. Tichy, 86, of Chamberlain, will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 28 at the United Church of Christ in Chamberlain, with burial of the ashes at a later date in St. John's Cemetery at Wagner. A prayer service will be 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 27 at the United Church of Christ with visitation beginning at 6:00 p.m. Joyce Ellen Tichy, daughter of Emil and Frances (Davis) Youngbluth, was born May 6, 1936, in Wagner. She peacefully passed Wednesday October 19, 2022, at the Dougherty Hospice House surrounded by her loving family.

Joyce attended country school until the 8th grade and then attended to the family farm. She married Alvin Dean Bridge on April 9, 1957. He passed away July 14, 1957. Joyce then married Charles Tichy and from that union they were blessed with five children: Brenda, Jeffery, Stacey, Jodi and Mark.

Joyce was a foster parent, a daycare provider and spent many years working at Charlys until her well-deserved retirement. She was devoted to God, enjoyed cooking for others, baking goodies with her sister, puzzles, reading, gardening, feeding her birds and deer, Elvis, classic country music and most of all, supporting and sharing laughter with her children and grandchildren.

Blessed for having shared her life are her children: Brenda (Cornell) Golder, Bridgewater; Jeffery (Nancy) Tichy, Chamberlain; Stacey Tichy (partner Cian Knifer), Casper, WY; Jodi (Bernie) Phipps, Hallsville, MO and Mark Tichy, Glenrock, WY, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren, sisters Ona (Harry) Ingalls, Lake Andes; Sandi (Tom) Pringle, Chamberlain and many cherished nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Joyce was welcomed into heaven by her parents, Emil and Frances, two sisters, Elizabeth Youngbluth and Norma Martin, husband Dean and grandson Nicholas Golder.
