HERBERT HARE JR.

Wake services for Herbert Hare, Jr. began Wednesday at the YST Community Center in Marty. Funeral services were held Friday, April 19 at the Community Center. Burial was in St Paul’s Catholic Cemetery in Marty. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Herbert Wesley Hare Jr. entered the world February 10, 1976 to Herb Sr. and Cecily. Lil grew up on the west side of Martyville with his little sis Lori. Later on joining the siblings was their baby bro Nick. Herb died Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Wagner.

All of his life, Herbies greatest love has been music. Among other talents Turbo was a karate brown belt, gifted student, altar boy, creative writer and entertainer extraordinaire. Those who knew Herb will remember his kind nature, easy going personality, amazing humor and love of laughter. Most notably by far though is what a rockstar he has always been.

Herb attended school in Wagner and Marty, graduating from Marty in 1994. Following graduation he worked many years at the FRC while simultaneously pursuing his music ambitions. Having a few bands, he entertained the masses.

Of all his accomplishments, June is most proud of his children. In September of 1998 he met Candace LaPointe-Zephier (Honey Buns) his love of 25 years.

Herb is survived by his mom Cecily, siblings Lori and Nick, life partner Candace, children: Lyle, Jewel, Herb III, Angel, Dreamer, Elijah and seven grandchildren. Herb will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, nephew, maternal and paternal grandparents, aunties, uncles and cousins.
