HERBERT HARE

Funeral services for Herbert Hare were Friday, November 19th at the Marty Community Center. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Herbert Wilson Hare was born July 29, 1939. His parents are Wesley “Bud” Hare and Elma Picotte. He died Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.

He attended Marty Mission School and graduated in 1957. He spent a few years working on the dams in the South Dakota area.

He then enlisted in the Air Force and was honorably discharged for his service. He was active in the local VFW and helped raise funds for fellow veterans. He then went on to work for the Yankton Sioux Tribal Office before working for the local Bureau of Indian Affairs headquarters.

He is survived by his two children, Lori Hare and Herb Hare Jr., with nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
