Geraldine Loraine Gallagher (née Cook) died peacefully at 95 years old. Formerly of Ravinia, she was born on October 9, 1926 in Greenwood, the only child of Cora Powers. She was raised by her grandparents Nancy Hawk and Milton Powers, along with her seven uncles and aunts. Geraldine, or Gerry, as she was lovingly known, spent her life between the Yankton Reservation, Omaha, Chicago and San Antonio, Texas, staying involved in tribal matters and returning home for every wedding, funeral and powwow. She was warm, hardworking and independent, always living life to its fullest. She spent her final years living in the countryside of Tennessee, with her daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Daniel.

She had many loves in her life, the greatest of whom were her children. She is preceded in death by her mother Cora, son Frank Cournoyer and her grandson Wakiyan'aku and succeeded by her children Myron Lindman, Sally Thomas (Matt), and Sheila Castillo (Daniel); by her grandchildren: Frank Lawrence, Harmony, Franki, Cetan, Beatrice, Daniel and Benny Ryan and Evan; 19 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. She was a devoted grandma, aunt and cousin to many. She was well loved and loved fiercely and generously.
