Frances Jones, 93, formerly of Lake Andes, died at Bethany Senior Living in Brandon on Monday, May 13, 2019. Funeral service was May 17 at First Lutheran Church in Lake Andes with burial following in Lakeview Cemetery in Lake Andes. Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Lake Andes was in charge of arrangements.

Frances Irene Jones was born on October 10, 1925 at Lake Andes, the daughter of Andrew and Irene (Anderson) Hylland. Frances graduated from Lake Andes High School in 1943. She attended Springfield Normal and taught rural schools for two years.

On May 27, 1944, she married Albert Jones.

Frances worked at the local grocery store in Lake Andes for 26 years. She also sold Avon for 25 years.

She and her husband were both 4-H leaders for many years. She was a lifetime member of Lake Andes Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School and was active in the women’s circle of the church. She was a member of the Homemakers Extension Club for 54 years. She died at Bethany Senior Living in Brandon on Monday, May 13, 2019 at the age of 93.

Survivors include two sons: Walt Jones and wife Lyn of Littleton, Colorado and Greg Jones of Parsons, Kansas and two daughters: Lucy Hartman of Sioux Falls and Cheryl Nincehelser and husband Denny of Pierre, along with ten grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband Albert in 1992, her parents, one brother and two sisters.
