Everette died Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at his home in Wagner. Funeral services were Friday, March 19, at the White Swan Community Center in Lake Andes. Burial was in St. Phillip’s Episcopal Cemetery in Lake Andes, with military honors. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

On September 28, 1952, Vivian Rouse and Curtis LeRoy, Sr. welcomed Everette Eugene LeRoy “Nig” into the world at home in Wagner.

Throughout his childhood, he lived back and forth from Pierre and Lake Andes. At the age of 17, he enlisted in the US Army 8th Infantry and was stationed in Germany for four years. After the Army, he furthered his education at Hayward Community College in Iowa. He graduated with his degree in Business Management, after he worked at various jobs.

Everette fathered nine children: two sons, Everette Jr. and Curtis Sr. (Clara Eagletail), one daughter Jasmine (Wanda Center), a son Chris (Pam Red-lightning), two sons Alphonse and Uriah, and three daughters Elsie, Lydia and Clarise with his wife Monica LeRoy. He will be missed dearly by his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, siblings, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Monica, bother parents Vivian Arrow and Curtis LeRoy, Sr., his brother Paul Rouse Sr.; sisters Patricia, Henrietta and Rita; Darrell Wayne, Curtis Jr., grandson Dreyson and other relatives.
