EUNICE PENTON

Eunice died Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Wagner. Wake services began Wednesday at the White Swan Community Center in Lake Andes. Funeral services were Saturday, October 23 at the White Swan Community Center. Burial was in St. Paul’s Catholic Cemetery in Marty. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Eunice Marie was born on March 24, 1948 to Charles Medicine Horn Jr. and Charity (Kiyukan) Wood. Eunice had ten brothers: Lawrence Kiyukan Sr., Cornelius Provost, Terry Provost, Purcell Provost, Alden Medicine Horn, Harold Provost, Louie Medicine Horn, Jerry Stone, Andy Wood Jr. and Percy Dion. She had five sisters: Diane (Stone) Houseman, Vera Provost, Thelma (Wood) Myers, Amy LaPointe and Christine Selwyn.

Eunice graduated from Flandreau Indian School and went on to beauty school in California. During her life in many places and made many friends. Eunice was blessed with seven children, 28 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

Eunice was so proud of her family. Her great grand babies were the joy of her life. She cherished her adventures with her big sister Diane and always looked forward to their time together.

Eunice touched so many lives throughout her walk on this earth. She worked for the Yankton Sioux Tribe, the Pork Plant and Fort Randall Casino, just to name a few. She loved to play bingo, shoot darts and was always there to help when asked. She had a heart of gold and was a good relative. She loved to sit and watch cartoons with her Tokojas.

Eunice is survived by her brothers: Lawrence, Andy, Alden, Terry and Percy; her sisters: Diane, Amy and Christine; her children: Arthur, Marcella, Timothy, Elizabeth, Yolanda, Jerry and Vanessa; her 28 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and family.

Eunice is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers: Harold, Cornelius, Purcell and Jerry; her sisters: Vera and Thelma and all relatives that have journeyed before her.
