Eunice Yvonne Hathaway, 83, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed peacefully at her home on September 8, 2022, with her family by her side. Eunice was born to Reka and Vert Burma on September 13, 1938, in Avon. She graduated from Avon High School and went on to receive a degree in nursing from Oklahoma Baptist University.

Euniceworkedasaregistered nurse for many years, including in her leadership role training other nurses in the country's first ICU for cardiac patients. Whileraisingherthreechildren, sheputinmanyhoursasanurse volunteer and worked later as a prenatal and family planning counselor for the American Red Cross. After moving to Santa Fe, New Mexico, she continued her volunteernursingworkandparticularly enjoyed her time with Families FIRST, providing care toexpectingandnewmothersto ensuretheyreceivedtheneeded medical,social,andeducational services.

Santa Fe was home to Eunice for a glorious seventeen years. Whilehere,shedonatedhertime and care to many, made numerous good friends, and enjoyed countlesshourswithherfamily. She treasured this special place, always longing to return after unforeseen circumstances led her back to Tulsa.

Eunice is survived by her husband of sixty years, Dr. Paul W. Hathaway, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her son, Scott Hathaway, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her daughter, Catherine Hathaway, and son-in-law, Eric Zuckerman, of Santa Fe, New Mexico; and her daughter, Elizabeth, and son-inlaw, Joe Arrowood, of Fairfax, Virginia. She is also survived by her granddaughters, Emma Zuckerman, Rachel Hathaway, and Hannah and Julia Arrowood.

Anyonewhohadthepleasure of knowing Eunice knew her to be an exceptionally kind and caring individual. She always took the time to listen and then, in the most subtle of ways, offered her guidance. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Eunice always put her loved ones and others before herself. Her quick wit and keen sense of humor never failed to lift the spirits of those around her. All thatknewherweretrulyblessed to have Eunice in their lives.

The family is planning a private service in Tulsa.
