Daniel Archambeau, Sr., 73, of Lake Andes died Monday, July 28 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. Funeral services were Saturday, August 2 at the White Swan Community Center in Lake Andes. Burial was in St. Phillip’s Episcopal Cemetery, Lake Andes. Wake services began Wednesday at White Swan Community Center. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Danny was born to Homer Archambeau Sr. and Rose Powers. He attended school at Marty Mission. Over the years, he lived in several places, including California, Chicago, and Omaha, Nebraska. He served in the Marine Corps and spent time living with his grandma, Jeanette Packard, who he was very close to.

Danny worked in many places during his life - including the Fort Randall Casino and the Yankton Sioux Tribal Housing Authority. He also served on the Yankton Sioux Tribe Business and Claims Committee and proudly owned his own bar, the “Sugar Shack.”

He loved fishing, hunting, picking mushrooms, and being around family.

Danny is survived by his three children: Rhonda Thunder Horse, Daniel Archambeau Jr., and Sarah Archambeau; his sisters: Shirley, Gayla, Rhea, and Allen; his brothers Elgin and Wendell; and many grandchildren, who he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his sisters Anita and Nancy; brothers: Mervin, Homer, Loren, and Skeeter; his mother Rose Powers; father Homer Archambeau Sr.; and grandma Jeanette Packard.
