Funeral services for Dakotah LeRoy Mendez, 30, of Sioux Falls were Thursday, September 1 at the YST Community Gym in Wagner. Burial was in St. Paul’s Catholic Cemetery in Marty. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

On a cold winter day, Dakotah Wade was born to Jean LeRoy and Francisco Mendez of Sioux Falls. He died Sunday, August 28, 2022 at his home in Sioux Falls.

Dakotah loved his daughter Aria, he always made sure that he attended all her school activities. Aria was the love of his life and his pride and joy.

Dakotah attended Washington High School. After school he worked at the Carnival Brazilian Grill as a chef.

He showed his cheffing skills home and cooked for the family. Dakotah was very active in Mixed Martial Arts and Boxing. He was the Golden Glove Boxing champion in different states such s SD, ND, Wy and MT. In 2010 and 2011, he was the King of the Hill champion two years in a row at the Fort Randall Casino.

Dakotah was very much loved by all of his family. He will be greatly missed. Dakota leaves behind his parents, Jean LeRoy and Francisco Mendez; his brother, Billy LeRoy of Wagner; and sisters: Giselle LeRoy of Sioux Falls, Eve Mendez and Dayton LeRoy; and many cousins, relatives and friends.
