CLARENCE MONTGOMERY

Funeral services for Clarence Montgomery, 61, of Wagner was held Thursday, February 29 at the YST South Gym in Wagner. Burial was in the Greenwood Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Greenwood, with military honors. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Clarence Edmund Montgomery was born December 3, 1962 to Louis and Margaret Montgomery. He passed away peacefully at his home in Wagner February 26, 2024.

Clarence drove truck in his younger years and then went on to become the Health Director for the Yankton Sioux Tribe. Clarence served in the United States Army at the Schofield Barracks in Hawaii with the 25th Infantry Division. In his spare time, Clarence loved reading, hunting, fishing, watching the Kansas City Chiefs play and spending time with his grandkids.

Grateful for sharing his life is the love of his life Shelly Cermak “Montgomery” and his children Quaid Montgomery (deceased), Luke (Kayedee) Montgomery Sr., Nitausha (Mike) Williams, Siqoyia “K” Williams and grandchildren Gabe, Tuff, Kian, Ashton, Zander, Zayden, Alzaden, Eliseo, Deovianii, Yesenia, Luke Jr and his special cheerleader, model something Jaezerii, Lakeya and great grandchildren Xyla, Nation, Xylee; sisters Lois, Carol, Vicki, Agnes, Martha, Berta, Bertha and Jackie; brothers Robert, Percy and Louis Jr.; along with many more family and friends.

Clarence is preceded in death by his son Quaid, his parents; his siblings Carol, Martha, Robert, Percy and numerous relatives. Clarence will be missed dearly.
