CHARLES KOCER

Funeral Mass for Charles (Chuck) Kocer, 64, of Wagner, was held at St. John’s Catholic Church on Monday, January

27. Burial was in the St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Wagner. Peters (Crosby-Jaeger) Funeral Home, Wagner, was in charge of arrangements.

Charles (Chuck) Romaine Kocer was born on January 9th, 1956 to Helen and Romaine Kocer, the fourth of six boys. He passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 in his home in Wagner.

On January 15th, 1979, Chuck married Rita Wurtz in Mitchell. To this union, five children were born.

Chuck was known to many as “the man who can fix anything.” He was one of the most creative men with truly the best work ethic of anyone. He found a way to flip a hundred-year-old home, build a pool, and add anything anyone could want.

Chuck was a man of faith, attending mass every Sunday in either Wagner or Dante. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and Labor Day centennial committee. He was an avid baseball/softball player. And when asked, he was always willing to help anyone in need with a smile on his face.

Those left to cherish his memory are his five children: Charley of Wagner; Haley of Carlsbad NM; Cassius and his wife Cassie of Valley Springs; Kathryn of Sioux Falls; Mike of Sioux Falls; Chuck’s 13 grandchildren: Jarod, Tyler, Alexis, Charley III, Rome, Amarita, Haley, Brayden, Cole, Jase, Radek, Isabelle and Johanna; brothers: Bill of Wagner; Paul (Susan) of Fort Morgan, CO; Steve (Donna) of Chamberlain; Leonard of Wagner; Romaine Jr. (Barb) of Sturgis.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents Romaine Sr. and Helen Kocer.
