Funeral services for Carol Lavonne Huddleson Irwin, 87, of Corsica, were held Thursday, September 14 at The Lighthouse Church in Wagner. Peters Funeral Home of Wagner was in charge of arrangements. Carol was born July 19, 1936 in Armour, the daughter of Robert and Maude (Allen) Huddleson. She left this life on September 9, 2023 surrounded by her family in her home in Corsica.

Carol met Dee Irwin when they were teenagers, they later married in 1956, and began to start their family. Carol’s greatest joy in life was being a loving wife and mother to her six children, but she also worked many years in dietary management, which she was certified in. Carol and Dee lived in many places including Colorado, California, Oklahoma, and Iowa before settling in South Dakota where Dee bought a home for them. This is where they settled down to enjoy making memories with their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and greatgreat grandchildren.

Carol is survived by daughters: Cindy Starrett, Jackie (Bill) Harrington, and Kim (Jeff) Davis; sons: Jeff (Bree) Irwin and Chris (Andrea) Irwin; 18 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband Dee Irwin, son Mic Irwin, granddaughters Jessica Davis and Anjel Leah; parents and all of her siblings.

She will be missed and loved by all who knew her.
