Funeral service for Burnell Jonah Patterson was held Saturday, January 9 at Clausen Funeral Home in Burke. Intermet followed at the Ponca Creek UCC Cemetery in St. Charles.

Burnell Jonah Patterson was born March 28, 1955 at Ravinia to Phillip Joseph and Gwendolyn Whynne (White Coat) Patterson and he died December 25, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Center in Scotland at the age of 65 years.

Burnell grew up in Ravinia and attended school in Lake Andes, graduating in 1975. While in High School he was active in football, basketball and baseball. Burnell loved people, he made friends with and had nicknames for everyone he met. His favorite places were senior meals at the firehall and Pump r Niks afterwards everyday.

He loved the Minnesota Vikings, Minnesota Twins, Notre Dame and WWE Wrestling. He never missed a game. He loved to tell stories of his football and baseball days.

In 2015 he became a resident at the Scotland Good Samaritan Center. He loved it there and enjoyed all of the attention, making new friends and his special trips to Yankton with his favorite “Two”.

Burnell was preceded in death by his grandparents, his parents and his brother.

Thankful for having shared in his life are all of his special friends he has left an impact on. He was a special man with a heart of gold and will be cherished forever by all who were honored to be called his friends.
